Introduction to commonly used faucets

Each household has several faucets for water diversion and water-saving purposes. But most homeowners do not know which material is better for faucets, nor do they know how much attention is paid to selecting faucets. Common faucets are introduced as follows:

The common name for a water valve is a faucet, which is a switch used to control the flow of water. The update and replacement speed of faucets is fast. Previously, they were made of old-fashioned cast iron technology, but later they were mostly electroplated knob type. Nowadays, most faucets are made of stainless steel single and double temperature single control faucets, kitchen semi-automatic faucets, and other styles. So what are the characteristics of the faucets made of several materials currently used?

1. Stainless steel faucet

Stainless steel faucets are lead-free, acid and alkali resistant, corrosion-resistant, and do not release harmful substances, and do not pollute the source of water. The surface of the stainless steel faucet does not require electroplating, only polishing can reveal its stainless steel color.

2. All copper faucet

The pure copper faucet is made of refined copper, with a chrome plated surface, high glossiness, and high wear and corrosion resistance. The quality is mainly distinguished by its copper content and process.

3. Plastic faucet

Plastic faucets have rich colors, mass production of molds, and higher safety compared to other materials. ABS plastic is used for production and processing. But it is not sturdy and has a short lifespan.

4. Alloy faucet

The price of alloy faucets is much lower than that of all copper faucets, and this type of faucet is easier to produce on a large scale. Zinc alloy is widely used among them, and zinc alloy faucets are harmful to the human body and are not very durable.

5. Ceramic faucet

Compared with other faucets, ceramic faucets are non rusting, non oxidizing, and less prone to wear and tear. The appearance of the ceramic faucet is beautiful and generous, because the outer shell is also a ceramic product.

After understanding the different materials of faucets, we also need to select faucets that are suitable for our home use. So, what aspects should we pay attention to when selecting them?

1. Identify the brand

Owners should purchase faucets from reputable brand stores for better after-sales protection. The packaging box of reputable faucets should have a brand logo and after-sales service.

2. Observe appearance

After the faucet is polished and formed, in order to prevent oxidation, a layer of nickel or chromium materials with neutral hydrochloric acid resistance will be plated on its surface to protect the faucet from corrosion. When choosing, it is good to check that the surface of the faucet is free of spots, pores, and burnt marks, and that the color is uniform and free of burrs and sand particles.

3. Inspection quality

The main body of the faucet is generally brass. The higher the purity of brass, the better the electroplating quality. Some manufacturers choose zinc alloy instead of brass to reduce costs. Zinc alloy electroplating has poor quality and weak corrosion resistance. Owners can use the method of estimating weight for identification when purchasing.

4. Rotating handle

The valve core of a faucet is usually a steel ball valve core and a ceramic valve core. The faucet with a ceramic valve core provides a more comfortable and smooth feel, and can be quickly opened and closed. When choosing, the quality of the valve core can be simply judged based on the feel of the handle when rotating.
